External FTP Access

Hi all

I've recently set up a domain / hosting and want to use FireFTP (Firefox add-on) to upload files. I've tried to configure using the username & password on the cpanel login as well as trying a new user ID created in FTP Account Management. I can use cPanel to upload but this is quite cumbersome.

My firewall is not showing any errors and even when switched off, I cannot connect.

FTP settings;
Host - ftp.beckermetscouts.org.uk
User name - becker
Password *********

Any help appreciated.

Hi,

Does your ftp software return an errors when it tries to connect? You can also try dropping the ftp off your host, so its just:

beckermetscouts.org.uk

Also to rule out dns issues tru connecting to the ip of the website, which is:

64.91.230.245
