Here's a list of frequently asked questions we've received relating to our services. If you still can't find an answer to your question, feel free to submit a new support request by logging in the Dream Hosting members area:
 What are your nameservers?
 It depends what server you account is hosted on at dream-hosting.co.uk. Contact us with your domain at support@dream-hosting.co.uk to find out your nameservers. These will also be supplied in your welcome email once your account is setup.
Do you support the use of PHPBB2 forums?
We do support phpBB2. It's actually already setup on the server along with other popular scripts within Fantastico, so when you log in to your control panel you can choose to auto install phpBB2. This will setup the necessary files and security automatically. (http://www.cpanelthemes.com/fantastico.php for more info).
Are there pop-ups or ads?
No - There are no popups or advertisements on your website. You have full control over the content (providing it agrees with our terms and conditions).
Can I create subdomains?
Our hosting package allows for unlimited subdomains on your hosting account. This means that you could have a subdomain called 'shop.domain.com' for your ecommerce area and 'support.domain.com' for your help area etc.
Does it support sendmail for having forms on the site?
Yes - Our hosting package supports the sendmail function for producing forms to email on your site.
Will I be able to run PHPauction on this server?
Yes - PHPAuction is included with Fantastico so the setup files are already on the server. All you need to do is click the installation link within your cpanel and all the neccessary files/permission are setup automatically. (A lot easier than uploading all the files and CHMOD'ing the directories!) Once installed, you can change and edit the look and feel of the package as you wish.
Can I pick a .co.uk domain name?
You can pick any domain name you wish. You can either register .com, .co.uk, .org, .net, .org.uk domain names through us or use another domain registration company and point the domain to your new hosting account.
Can more than 1 domain be hosted?
With each hosting package you can add domains by going to the 'addon domain names' section within your cpanel.
Are there any hidden costs and can i cancel at any time?
There are no hidden costs, no VAT or setup charges - All you have to pay
is the shown package price per year. You can cancel at any time as well. Note that no refund is given for the remainder of your hosting period.
I have a domain already, is there a transfer fee for this?
With your domain name you would need to amend the nameservers to point to our servers (contact us with your domain name for the nameservers). This is a free service supplied by most domain registrars. Alternatively you can transfer your domain into our management for £7.50. This must be done by contacting sales@dream-hosting.co.uk after your account is setup.
What control panel do you use?
We use cpanel (cpanel.net) in connection with WHM for Reseller accounts. We also have our own in house members area which links into cpanel.
Do you offer payment via credit card?
Yes, currently via PayPal on the site. You can also pay by cheque, PO, or direct transfer.
Which versions of Apache / Php do you run?
All our servers run PHP 5.2.x and apache 2.2.x. If you wish to know more about our server setup then please contact us via the contact us page.
How often is the software updated?
We tend to update php to the latest STABLE version hence the reason why we are not on php 5 yet. Any critical updates are done instantly.
